Be a Caribou Area Chamber of Commerce member.
Notify us at least three
weeks in advance for availability of event and prepare a brief synopsis of your business for
the Chamber Newsletter.

Be present at the agreed
time and date, ready to meet and greet your visitors.
Referrals
Referrals can be one of your
company’s greatest assets. Each year, the Chamber office has thousands of
inquiries from visitors or residents for referrals. We constantly make
referrals on behalf of our members.
Literature Displayed in our Visitor
Rack
The Visitor Rack at the Chamber of Commerce office is utilized by many shoppers
and tourists who visit Caribou. Keep us supplied with your most recent
brochure, and we’ll make sure it is displayed. Non-member literature is not
displayed.

Residents and Guests
Tell new community members about your business. Give us your brochure, coupons
or special offers and we will include them in the gift bags given to new
residents and guests – at no
charge!
Caribou Area Chamber of Commerce Website
One of the many values of membership is a listing and link on our website www.cariboumaine.net
which averages over 10,000 hits per month. Visitors can find your business
listing three ways –
alphabetically, by category or by using key words. Members can showcase their
business even more by adding event to our website – at no charge. Also included is the “Community Events” link
on the website. The Caribou Chamber of Commerce Website – a great place to promote your business!
Mailing List
Target your business to business advertising with the Chamber’s exclusive
member list. This list is available to Chamber members at a surprisingly low
cost. The Chamber updates the list monthly and includes the appropriate contact
name. These are handy to have if you wish to expand your mailing list of
customers. Marketing specifically to Chamber members benefits you and your clientele.

Business Card Rack
The Business Card Rack located at the Chamber office provides you with another
opportunity to promote yourself to other Chamber members, guests and the
community. Only Chamber businesses are allowed to display their cards.
News in the Chamber Newsletter
Let
other Chamber members know what’s new or happening at your business via the
Chamber newsletter. This quarterly asset gives your business exposure and
allows you to keep other members abreast of new products or services, a new
location, promotion or staff. A full
page insert can always be included in our 1000 copies of Newsletters sent out

Area Chamber of Commerce Gift Certificate Program
Chamber
Gift Certificates aren’t just for the Holidays! There are four simple ways corporations or
individuals can contact the Chamber to purchase gift certificates: our website,
toll free phone number, faxable order forms or come in to the office. When a customer redeems one of our gift
certificates with you, please send the certificate directly to the
Chamber. We will mail your reimbursement
for the face value of the certificate within two business days. We will honor any established policies
stating the gift certificate must be redeemed for a percentage of its
value. A window cling is provided to
help advertise you are a member participating in the program. Help us to
promote business in our community by participating in the Gift Certificate program.

Mailing Permit Usage
Bulk
mail is a way to save money on postage by doing things that save the US Postal
Service (USPS) money. They pass some of the savings along to you by charging
you lower postage prices. The most common type of bulk mail is called
"Standard Class". (It used to be called "3rd Class".) Most
advertising mail, newsletters, etc. are sent using Standard Class. A minimum of 200 pieces is a requirement.
Sorting boxes and supplies are obtained at the USPS for free.

Prospective Resident Lists
We receive daily, letters asking about moving to the
area. These are excellent "leads" to contact before they settle in
the area, particularly for real estate people, pre-school operators, banks,
etc. If you would like more information on how you can use the Referrals from
the Chamber to benefit you and your business, please let us know.

& Guide. This publication is distributed state wide at all 7
Maine visitor centers.
Every other year we reprint and update thousands copies of the Map & Guide
which is also handed out during state wide trade shows, tourism packets, local
businesses, welcome/gift bags, relocation packets, special events and more.
