Aroostook Cup #4 - Karen Sprague Memorial
Date: Sunday, February 12, 2012 Time: 12:00pm
- The fourth stop of the 2012 Aroostook Cup series. The Karen Sprague Memorial is a duathlon, meaning participants will ski a lap using classic equipment and then switch into skate equipment for the second lap. Duathlons are fun to watch and even more fun to participate in! If you are looking for a more low-key option, bring a partner and ski in the 1 km sweetheart relay prior to the start of the duathlon. Event number two for this ski-filled day in Caribou. Hit the trails at the Caribou Country Club and earn some points for your local club. The annual Henry Anderson is classic and will be held in the afternoon on Sunday February 26th.

Aroostook Cup #5 - New Year's Race

- Okay, so it's not actually New Years Day, but this IS the fifth race in the Aroostook Cup series and the first of two events on Sunday February 26th. Aroostook Cup #5 is a skate race or tour at Caribou High School. Afterwards head on over to the Caribou Country Club for this two-event day of fun!

- HHPR now has our new Christmas Calendar Sale for local people for February 2012 calendar winner. It’s exciting, fun and you are very apt to be a winner. This is a great stocking stuffer. There are 29 “leaping lizards” prizes to be won. The Halfway Home Pet Rescue February Calendar is only $5.00 each. There are free haircuts, oil changes, car washes, pizzas, all kinds of fun gifts and money saving surprises, each valued at more than the $5.00. And you can win more than once!! Your name goes back into the basket. On the last day of January 2012, the 29 February prizes will be drawn and the winners will be notified. The February 29th prize is a $50.00 cash prize. Twenty-nine chances to win. Aroostook Youth Ski Festival

Skiing, friends, and lots of fun - it can only mean one thing ... the Aroostook Youth Ski Festival! Hosted by the Northern Skiers Club, this popular half-day event is open to all youth skiers ages 5-14. Activities include barrel races, games, a terrain park, and more. REUNION FOR ALL LORING VETS, CIVILIANS, FRIENDS & BRATS
Date: Sunday, September 02, 2012 Time: Sunday 1pm - Monday 11pm
- The Loring Military Heritage Center would like to have a reunion for anyone Loring related. If your interested please let us know. More info on this to come. We were thinking a BBQ one afternoon and then a dinner on the base at Whispering PInes, or the old NCO club with a DJ. We would do a reserve your reservation with a nonrefundable deposit. That way we would have a head count. Possible that it will be Labor Day 2012!
