The former Caribou Development Corp and the Caribou Chamber of Commerce merged into one agency (the Caribou Chamber of Commerce and Industry) in 2000. While similar agencies are more than an established trend in other states, the CCC&I remains the only combined economic development agency and chamber of commerce in Maine. The CCC&I is a non-profit organization which provides economic development services and business loans, as well as traditional Chamber of Commerce benefits for its members and the residents of Caribou.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the CCC&I is to develop, encourage, promote, and protect the commercial, professional, agricultural, recreational, industrial, financial, general business and residential interests of the greater Caribou area and to promote the civic interest and the general welfare of the area.
VISION STATEMENT
The future of Caribou - its economy, institutions, and quality of life - is dependent upon the success of its business community. The Caribou Chamber of Commerce & Industry believes our organization exists to assist members and businesses by serving as responsible partners in Caribou's economic future. The CCC&I's strength and effectiveness are directly related to the commitment of its staff as well as our involvement with, and support of, our diverse membership.
GOALS
- To develop, promote, and protect the commercial, professional, agricultural, recreational and residential interests (of its members) and the greater Caribou area.
- To promote wholesale business, tourism, and the service sector industry (or its members).
- To investigate, explore and pursue outside businesses in the hopes of potentially locating or relocating new or existing businesses into our area.
- To encourage the civic interests and elevate the general welfare of Caribou and the region.
- To participate in and support the activities of Aroostook County.
